Senior Designer
We’re not looking for a pixel-pusher. We’re looking for a product shaper.
Picture a world where your energy system anticipates your needs, seamlessly integrates with solar panels, batteries, and other systems, and even lets you share excess energy with your neighbors. A world where energy works for you - intelligently, effortlessly, and without limitations.
That’s the future we’re building at Starflow, a future we call Energy Perfection. We’re developing a new generation of energy products that transforms how energy flows - empowering people to save money, live sustainably, and break free from the limitations of the grid.
Now, imagine creating the experience that makes this future a reality.

Your mission
As our Senior Designer, you’ll lead the creation of Starflow’s overall product experience - fusing hardware, software, interaction, and emotion into one seamless whole.
This role goes beyond aesthetics. It’s about defining the big idea behind the product, shaping how it should feel and work, and turning that into something others can build from, align around, and fall in love with.
Here's something of what awaits you
-
You won’t be handed a finished product. You’ll be part of shaping it from the ground up, with space to think, explore, and define the product experience before it’s locked in.
-
You’ll collaborate closely with visionary founders who’ve held the product idea in their heads since day one. Your role is to help shape it into something others can build, use and believe in, through trust, dialogue, and strong design thinking.
-
This isn’t just UI. You’ll be working with real materials, screens, buttons, gestures, and behaviors, exploring the full spectrum of interaction.
-
We value messy sketches, illustrations, quick models, cardboard, whatever works. This is a place for tactile thinking and not just Figma. That “conceptual sketch” muscle? It matters here.
-
We hope our platform will bridge the gap between old and new energy systems, making it modular, scalable, and easier for people to invest in solar panels, batteries, and EV chargers. This is the beginning of a more digitised energy system, built for the 21st century

Co-founder & CEO
What you’ll do
-
Work side-by-side with the founders to shape the overall product experience, from initial vision to a structured, shared concept that defines what the product truly is. You’ll help connect the dots, ask the hard questions, and give form to a product direction that others can understand and build from.
-
Create interaction models that bring screens, buttons, gestures, and physical behaviors together into one fluid, intuitive experience, both for homeowners and installers.
-
Bring product ideas to life through sketches, mockups, and storytelling, making abstract thinking visual, actionable, alignable, and easy to contribute to across disciplines.
-
Create principles for how people touch, install, and interact with the product, ensuring the experience feels intuitive, thoughtful, and uniquely Starflow.
-
Collaborate closely with hardware, firmware, and manufacturing to make sure your concepts not only look beautiful, but can be built, scaled, and used in real life.
-
Define the design philosophy, mindset, and methods that guide how Starflow designs products, laying the groundwork for scalable design practices and culture.
... but let's not forget that no role is static ...
We believe in adapting to what serves the company's vision and growth.
This means that as Starflow grows, you'll grow with it, wearing different hats and taking on responsibilities that match both your strengths and the changing needs of the business.
-
We're not just looking for someone to get things done, we’re looking for someone who thrives on tough challenges, embraces advanced problems, and is excited to make a lasting impact by turning those challenges into opportunities

Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for a thinker and a doer. Someone who knows how to shape a big idea, but also how to break it down into flows, sketches, principles, and prototypes that move the team forward.
You don’t need to have “Senior Designer” as a title on your CV - but you do need to be someone who thinks holistically, works systemically, and feels at home where hardware meets software.
Here are three traits we believe matter most in this role:
-
You know how to design across hardware and software
You’ve worked on products where screens, enclosures, buttons, and flows all had to feel like one system, not separate parts. You understand how the physical and digital influence each other, and you’re used to collaborating with engineers or industrial designers to get that integration right.
-
You turn fuzzy ideas into clear direction
You’re often the one sketching things out when the brief is still blurry. You use flows, mockups, storytelling, and whatever medium works to get early alignment, and you’re comfortable showing work before it’s polished.
You’ve helped teams move forward by visualizing what didn’t exist yet, and you enjoy the role of turning abstract into actionable.
-
You move between vision and execution
You can see the whole and bigger picture and imagine where the product should go. But you also know how to work toward that in small, concrete steps. You’re not afraid to build partial prototypes, define principles mid-flight, or adapt as things evolve.
🙋🏽♀️ FAQ – What you might be wondering
-
Starflow is still in the early stages, which means you’ll be shaping the very first iterations of our products.
This also means things move fast, priorities shift, and you’ll need to be comfortable with a certain level of uncertainty.
You’re joining a small team, where there’s no design department to lean on (yet), and it’s up to you to take ownership, be proactive, and make things happen.
-
No. Some things are in motion, but the concept isn’t locked. You’ll be part of shaping what the product actually is, how it should work, feel, and come together across touchpoints.
-
No. This isn’t about designing screens in isolation. It’s about shaping the product concept; how the hardware and software work together, how people interact with it, and how it all fits into a meaningful experience.
-
Not at all. You’ll work closely with the founders, engineers, and external consultants. You’ll lead the design work, but always in close collaboration with others.
-
No. What matters is how you think about products, how you explore, structure, and communicate ideas that combine different parts into one cohesive experience.
-
You won’t manage people from day one, but you will lead design. You’ll set direction, define principles, and shape how we work. If formal leadership becomes relevant later, we’ll shape that path together.
-
No. This role is based in Stavanger. You’ll need to be physically close to the engineers and founders to explore ideas, test concepts, and collaborate in real time. Design happens in the room.
-
Absolutely. As Starflow expands, so will the design function. If you want to stay hands-on, you can. But if you aspire to lead a team in the future, that’s also an option.
However, leadership at Starflow isn’t just a title, it’s something you earn by demonstrating impact, ownership, and the ability to bring others along. If you show that you’re ready to take that step, the opportunity will be there.
-
If you seek comfort or routine, then Starflow is not the place for you. But if you are driven by passion and the desire to shape something greater than yourself, then we might be the perfect fit.

Life @ Starflow
Joining Starflow at this stage is a unique opportunity. You’ll experience personal growth, exciting challenges, and the chance to make a real impact.
But make no mistake, this journey isn’t for everyone. We’re an ambitious team on a bold mission, which means that the path ahead will be demanding, unpredictable, and full of challenges.
To give you a deeper understanding of our culture, you’ll receive a DNA report during the process - outlining our values, ways of working, and what it really means to be part of Starflow.
-
We take calculated risks, push boundaries and meet challenges head on. That's why we need people who aren't afraid to challenge the status quo and think different. You'll be encouraged to think outside the box, but also to take ownership of your work and be accountable for both successes and failures.
-
We believe that no one is more important than the team, and that the best solutions come from different perspectives, feedback, and open communication. There's no room for ego here - only a shared passion for building something extraordinary.
-
We cherish freedom and autonomi, but we also understand that freedom goes hand in hand with responsibility and consequences. We know when to lead and make decisions independently, and when to follow guidance and instructions from others.
-
Being part of Starflow from the start means navigating limited resources, shifting priorities, and tight deadlines. It’s demanding, unpredictable, and chaotic - but that’s also what makes it exciting. We need resilient people who can balance long-term vision with the immediate needs of the business, staying adaptable and focused as we push forward.
